When does my blood test kit expire?

The expiry depends on whether you have already taken your blood sample or not.

If you have already taken the sample

Once your blood sample has been collected, it needs to reach the lab quickly.

• Samples that are 96 hours (4 days) or more from the time they were taken cannot be processed

• For best results, we recommend returning your sample as soon as possible after collection

If your sample was taken more than 96 hours ago, please let us know so we can arrange a replacement.

If you have not yet taken the sample

If your test kit has not been used:

• At-home blood test kits are best used within 6 months of being issued

Using the kit within this timeframe helps ensure accurate results.

What if my kit is expired or close to expiring?

If your kit has already expired, or is close to expiry and you haven’t been able to complete the test, please let us know.

We can arrange a free replacement kit so you can complete your blood test without any additional cost.
