We’re sorry to hear you’re having difficulty completing your finger-prick blood test. This is quite common and nothing to worry about. Some people find it tricky to collect enough blood on the first attempt.
If you would like to try again, we can send you a free replacement kit, along with a short video tutorial that shows how to get the best results.
Tips to make the test easier
These steps often help improve blood flow and make collection easier:
Drink plenty of water at least 30 minutes before using the kit
Make sure your hands are warm, for example by running them under warm water or rubbing them together for a few minutes
Use the lancet on the side of your ring finger, rather than the fingertip
Gently squeeze from your knuckle towards your fingertip to encourage blood flow
You can also watch our step-by-step video tutorial, which demonstrates exactly how to do this.
Prefer not to repeat the finger-prick test?
If you would rather not repeat the finger-prick test, you can choose a Venous Blood Test instead. This can be completed either at a clinic appointment or via an at-home nurse visit.
Once you have purchased the venous test, please let us know and we will refund the cost of your original finger-prick test.
If you need any help deciding which option is best for you, our team is happy to assist.
