My testosterone has crytsallised - what should I do?

If your vial has crystallised (you can see crystals or cloudiness), the medication is still safe to use. Crystallisation can happen when the vial gets too cold.

Storage check

Do not store Cypionate in the fridge.
Store at room temperature.

How to dissolve crystals

1. Warm the vial gently.

2. Shake and invert the vial several times.

3. Continue until all crystals fully dissolve.

Warming options

• Hands: warm the vial in your hands, then shake/invert.

• Hot water:

  • Fill a cup with hot water (not boiling).

  • Place vial in the cup for 5–10 minutes.

  • Keep water below the top of the vial.

  • Shake occasionally.

Important: Even one remaining crystal can cause recrystallisation later, so ensure none remain.

What to avoid

• Do not use boiling water.

• Do not overheat the vial (risk cracking glass / overheating medication).

Preventing future crystallisation

• Store somewhere warm and dry (e.g., airing cupboard).

• Avoid pressurising the vial when drawing doses:

  • Replace the volume of medication removed with the same volume of air.
